Every day, we are surrounded by information. There are long news articles, thick textbooks, and endless emails waiting to be read. It can feel overwhelming. That is why knowing how to summarize is such a valuable skill.
When you summarize something, you do not just make it shorter. You find the heart of the message. You ask yourself: "What is the most important point here?" Then you say it clearly and simply.
Good writers know how to summarize well. A doctor must summarize a patient's history in a few lines. A journalist must summarize a complex event in one headline. A student must summarize a chapter for a test. Even a friend summarizes a movie so you can decide whether to watch it.
